Christmas Eve

I woke up to my usual but also favorite breakfast of chapatis made by Vaishali. Today we were meeting with some colleagues of Nisha and Vernon for Christmas Eve brunch at a famous restaurant called O Pedro's. O Pedro's is most known for their Goan Portuguese food they serve. Since it was Christmas Eve, the place was very festive and all decorated. There was a live band that was bringing in the Holiday spirit by singing Christmas Carols.

All the food served was amazing and had such a nostalgic taste. It reminded me of the kind of food my mom would make and tasted very homemade. My favorite appetizer we ordered was the prawn balchaõ as it is something I have recently learned to make from Merle but of course mine tastes a little different from how it is made here. The fish and stuffed squid were also very good. For the main course I had Goan coconut fish curry which was so good! I have been harassing my grandma to teach me how to make it!

In between eating, everyone got up to dance to the music. My grandma absolutely loves to dance and seeing her dance with such a big smile on her face makes me so happy. I also got up and danced with her.

In the afternoon my grandma and I decided we were too tired to attend midnight mass so instead I convinced her to watch a cheesy Christmas movie with me. We watched Falling for Christmas on my laptop and she loved it! She kept saying "how cute" and "how sweet". It was so precious! I found someone who loves watching rom-coms as much as me!
