Today I went to Chembur to meet Linda and spend time with Rahul and Nisha. Our first stop was the mall where we ate lunch. We ate at a traditional Rajasthani place called Rajdhani that serves thalis. Val had ordered a fish thali a few days back for takeout but after eating at a thali place I can now say it is more about the experience. As soon as you are seated multiple servers come around each carrying different dishes to fill up the many bowls on the thali. There was one server in particular who was bedecked in a Rajasthani outfit that I loved! There were so many little little things to try on my plate and there was a lot of food! The servers came around multiple times trying to refill my thalis as I ate. Overall, the food was very good and the perfect blend of spicy and sweet. There were also things I have never had before like sweet dal and this vegetable called Surti Undhiyu that I liked a lot. I really love Indian food and loved being able to sample so many dishes.
Following our big meal we went shopping to the mall and I picked up a light green kurti with lots of shiny embroidery! I have decided that sparkles are a non-negotiable for me. I also picked up a pair of pants with embroidery and sequins on the trim on the leg.
After our mall excursion, I hung out with Nisha and Rahul and we watched a bollywood movie together and then went to the Chembur Gymkhana for a swim and dinner.
