Buddha Hill

After the train arrived we took a cab to the resort we were staying at called Alagoa. The resort was a nice bungalow that had a pool and breakfast included with the stay. It was also very close to Betalbatim beach which we took a short walk to. There were many Russian tourists there who apparently come every year to escape the winter. We sat on the beach for a while waiting for our room. I sipped on line juice to make me feel better but I was so sick I passed out. I think Sonali took note that I would not survive a train ride back so she booked a flight back for us on the 30th.

When our room was ready we both took naps and then Clayton picked us up for lunch and took us to a place called Ocean World. We had fish curry, butter garlic squid, and then Kingfisher. I liked the Kingfisher but the curry and squid were okay. Following lunch, we were to meet Clayton's cousins at Buddha Hill. When we arrived it was a bit of a hike and Sonali was in her chappals so she decided to stay in the car and wait for us. She was also arranging for her boyfriend Daniel to come to Goa last minute since he was feeling FOMO.

I loved the hike to the Buddha statue! I have been itching to go exploring and hike. There was an entry fee to hike, so Clayton and I kept joking about getting the most of our money and took all of the side overlooks as well. There wasn't much on the side overlooks but it was fun to go see it regardless. Of course we had to take selfies at the selfie point even though the actual trail offered better views. The views from the top of Buddha Hill were amazing! You could see all the rice paddy fields below and thousands of coconut trees. It was even more pretty as the sun became a deep red color and began to set. Clayton loves to sing and he sang the whole time which I found very cute! Of course he also tried to get me to sing along which I did occasionally. Watching the sunset from the top of Buddha Hill was so perfect and dream-like. It was very nice to be able to spend time with Clayton and get to know him more. I even forgot all about how sick I was! Clayton's cousins finally joined us and we attempted to take selfies with the Buddha statue. They were great fun and two of them were from London and had British accents.
