En Route to India

I love India. I always have. I had such an incredible time last time I knew I would return. It was always in the plan to return at least in January for Sonali's wedding depending on how long I was allowed to take off from work.

Work. Well that one really didn't go according to plan. After being really down and upset over being deferred nearly a year, I knew I had to make the most of the time I was given. I took it as a sign from the universe that I was meant to travel and live out my best life as a 23 year old. When I received my deferral, I decided I wanted to go abroad somewhere new so I researched Holiday Working Visas and landed on Australia.

Fast forward a couple months and I now have both Indian and Australian visas which will be my rough plan for the next year. Of course I received my Australian visa as soon as I booked my flight to India, but it was settled. I will stay in India until at least January and then head to Australia from January to March. I plan to work a bit in both countries to keep myself occupied but most importantly I want to travel and have new experiences. I want to see new places, try new food, experience new holidays, and meet people from around the world.

In India, I plan to stay with my relatives and hopefully see new parts of the country that I haven't been before. I know for sure I want to go to Kerala in the South and then Anjali and I have booked a weekend in Mahabalipuram which is South of Chennai. Of course Goa is a must and I will likely end up there twice. I am ready to experience my first Diwali and all the other holidays celebrated during my time there and will not pass up an opportunity to get dressed in all my Indian outfits.

Of course no abroad experience is complete without my friends visiting or meeting up with them in other countries. This time Amina has said that she plans on visiting her grandma in Japan and then visiting me. So I struck a deal with her. A trip for a trip. Check back in with me in a few months to see if it happens.

Since graduating, it has felt unsettling for things to not go according to plan but I am doing my best to embrace the uncertainty knowing that I will figure it out in the end. I think my love of spontaneity with my European lifestyle is showing a little bit there. Here's to not having a set plan but embracing all of the different opportunities life throws at me! Stay tuned for lots of adventures!

Xoxo,

Preeti
